When the Aegean is easiest to plan

A planning note on meltem, harbour pace, and why a sample calendar is not a forecast.

White buildings above blue water

The Aegean is not one season. Early summer often leaves more room in small harbours. July and August can bring the meltem, a northerly that makes some open crossings the work of the day rather than a backdrop.

Sailaboard does not turn that pattern into a green calendar. The destination pages call it general guidance. A real week still needs a person who will read the wind for those exact days.

If you are comparing Turkey and the Cyclades, keep the coasts in separate searches. A calm week in Göcek does not describe a windy reach south of Mykonos.
